Michael Carney Snyder, 59, of John Day died Oct. 8 at Bend.
He was born Aug. 24, 1943 at Prairie City to John Stanley and Ernestine (Withem) Snyder. He was raised at Dayville and graduated in 1961.
Mr. Snyder served in the United States Air Force 1961-65 then was employed as a truck driver in the timber industry.

On June 8, 1968, he married Mary J. Streeter at Prineville.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, woodworking, fishing and his grandchildren.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Mary of John Day; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Susie Snyder of John Day; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ryan McIntosh of Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska; two brothers, Charles A. Hebard of Bend and Thomas C. Hebard of Oregon; five grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and “adopted” grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Snyder and Ernestine Snyder Hebard; and two brothers, Loren J. Snyder and Leslie “Pat” E. Snyder.
A graveside service was held Oct. 11 at Dayville Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Leukemia Foundation. Driskill Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
