MADRAS – On Saturday, October 12, John Day rider Nancy Clark finished up her cutting season in Madras.

She has been traveling since February, all over the state, to compete in the Oregon Cutting Horse Association’s 2000 limited rider class.

Clark and her partner, a palomino Quarter Horse named Sporty Little Lena, have worked very hard this past year.

They had their ups and downs during the season, but it all paid off on the night of Oct. 12 when she received a brand new saddle, as well as a trophy from the National Cutting Horse Association, for winning the 2000 rider class.

The saddle was given to the person that won the most money throughout the year in their class.
