Alva Gene Campbell, 75, of Kimberly died Nov. 17 at home.

He was born Aug. 26, 1927, at Burns to Arthur and Margaret (Huskey) Campbell.

He attended grade school at Burns and high school at Spray, graduating in 1945.

Mr. Campbell served in the United States Navy 1945-46 during World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor.

He was self-employed as a store owner and also worked as a postmaster. He retired in 1986.

On July 2, 1945, he married Donna M. Cress at Boise, Idaho.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, travel and his family.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Donna Campbell of Kimberly; daughter, Vonda Stubblefield of Monument; two sons, Verlin Campbell of Portland and Lindell Campbell of Palm Springs, Calif.; two granddaughters, Jenny Pinson of Meridian, Miss., and Stacey Wright of Boise, Idaho; grandson, Cory Stubblefield of Monument; great-granddaughter, Elle Wright of Boise; and two brothers, Joe Campbell of Pocatello, Idaho, and Delmar Faulds of Yachats.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Margaret Campbell, and stepmother, Beulah Campbell.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. John King were held Nov. 22 at Monument. Memorial contributions can be made to the Monument Senior Center and EMTs. Driskill Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
