Monument Seniors: Books delivered from Grant County Library

Published 4:00 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2003

Four different kinds of pizza were served to the 29 diners on Jan. 28. Green salad, peaches and what we called “brownie cake” topped the meal.

We sang Happy Birthday to Betty Shrofe, Ellen Kellogg, Terry Neal-Cade and Mardy Jensen. I know how old Terry is, but the others wouldn’t ell.

Bingo players arrived on Jan. 25 with lots of good food. Marva Walker’s granddaughter, Calla, won the blackout. Marva won the last time. Is she coaching?

Mardy Jensen announced the bus trips to John Day are planned on the second Thursday of each month. And there are trips planned to Fossil and Condon soon.

The MMM group finished a two-quilt tying project on Jan. 29.

Please note that the Grant County Book Mobile will be at Monument School on the first Wednesday of each month. You can even call the library and request books that will be delivered by the Book Mobile.

Drawing winners were Donna Campbell, certificate from Chester’s Thriftway; Dotty Jensen, Touch of Country; Jack Sweek, Radio Shack; and Betty Shrofe, free senior meal.
