ALLISON JR.

Lawrence F. Allison, 55 of Portland died March 13 at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland.
Mr. Allison was born in Long Beach, Calif., to Dorothy (Shelton) and Lawrence F. Allison Sr.
At age 17, he moved to Oregon, then worked as a John Deere mechanic for many years.
In 1983, he relocated to Grant County with his family. He moved to Pendleton in 1991, then resided at Portland.
Mr. Allison is survived by his mother, Dorothy Allison of Long Beach, Calif.; five children, Elijah Allison, Cloud Allison and Ashley Allison of Portland, Jeff Allison of Hillsboro and Sky Allison of Federal Way, Wash.; two grandchildren and two sisters;.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Allison Sr.
MARGARET C. AMANN
July 5, 1944 –
March 23, 2003
Margaret C. Amann, 58, of Vancouver, Wash., died March 23.
She was born July 5, 1944, at Richardton, N.D., to Frank B. and Catherine (Schwartz) Neurohr.
On Dec. 29, 1964, she married James B. Amann at Dodge, N.D. They resided at Pendleton 1974-84, and at John Day 1984-90 as he worked for the Forest Service, then relocated at Vancouver, Wash., in 1990.
Mrs. Amann was a homemaker who enjoyed ethnic cooking and making desserts, planning group dinners, reading and embroidery. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vancouver, Catholic Daughters of the Americas No. 1774, and was involved with parish functions, including youth activities and senior luncheons.
Mrs. Amann is survived by her husband, James Amann of Vancouver, Wash.; three daughters, Theresa C. Kramer of Bend, Charlene M. Albrich of Vancouver, Wash., and Katrina M. Amann of Bellevue, Wash.; three sisters, Elaine Neurohr of Dodge, N.D., Marian Bosch of Halliday, N.D., and Louise Neurohr of Dickerson, N.D.; four brothers, Harold Neurohr and Clayton Neurohr of Halliday, N.D., and Clark Neurohr and Adrian Neurohr of Dodge, N.D.; and five grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary was held March 27 at Hamilton-Mylean Funeral Home in Vancouver, which was in charge of arrangements. Funeral mass was held March 28 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vancouver. Interment followed at St. James Acre Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash.

FARRIS BUEL BENTON

March 30, 2003
A graveside service for Farris Buel Benton will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Burns Cemetery. The service will be officiated by the Burns Elks Lodge 1680.
Mr. Benton, 72, died March 30 at Bend-La Pine Hospice House in Bend. Mr. Benton was a heavy equipment operator in the timber and construction industries.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Warren Benton of Burns; two sons, Alan Benton of Burns and Dennis Benton of Hines; three daughters, Judy Ridings of Portland, Deanne Horner of Sisters and Debbie Braxling of Tillamook; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel May (Priester) Benton.
Driskill Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
RODGER A. BELSHAW
Sept. 26, 1927 –
March 22, 2003
The Rev. Rodger A. Belshaw, 75, of John Day died March 22.
He was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Mt. Vernon to Virgil and Anna Belshaw. He grew up in the John Day Valley and graduated from Grant Union High School in 1945.
He attended the University of Washington on a sports scholarship and played football, then was drafted and served in the medical department of the U.S. Army for four years, stationed in Germany. He was able to travel all over Europe, playing football on the Army team.
Shortly after returning to the ranch, he married Vicky Norris of Barnwell, S.C.
Mr. Belshaw graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1963. He pastored for 33 years in four different states and ministered his whole life. In 1991, he and his wife settled in the John Day Valley, where he pastored for a final time at the First Baptist Church of John Day.
Mr. Belshaw is survived by his children: Carey Stephen Belshaw of Hoquian, Wash.; Sallie Anne Roberts of Prineville; Cheryl Belshaw of Redmond; Mark Norris Belshaw of Redmond; and Melaney Belshaw Fischer of Aledo, Texas; brother, Carl Belshaw; his sister, Clete Weissenfluh; five children; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, son Rodger Belshaw Jr. who died in 1964, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held March 25 at First Baptist Church in John Day.
