Bass club reels in catch at Brownlee Reservoir

RICHLAND – The John Day Valley Bass Club kicked off the 2003 season on Saturday, March 15, with its first tournament at the Brownlee Reservoir.

Overall, William Gibbs and his partner Randy Stovall came away as the winners hauling in fish weighing a total of 8.75 pounds.
Stovall was also caught the largest single fish of the tournament which weighed in at 2.79 pounds.
Ed Hensley Sr. and Ed Hensley Jr. placed second with a catch totaling 8.63 pounds, with Lee and Kolona Morin finishing third at 7.55 pounds.

Kolona Morin recorded the second largest fish of the tournament which weighed 2.28 pounds.
The club will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 14, at Clark’s Kountry Lanes, and the next tournament is set for Saturday, April 19, at the Prineville Reservoir.
