Monument Seniors: Musical concert on stage this Saturday
Published 5:00 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2003
On April 28, 28 people showed up to enjoy taco soup, green salad and trimmings and birthday cake.
We sang “Happy Birthday” to Charlotte Howell, Carrie Jewell, Roger Kellogg, Betty Richards, Hal Grizzel and Gus Peterson.
Irvin and Marion Sexton from Spray joined us also.
It was announced that the money raised at the Spring Fling will benefit efforts to provide new equipment for the ambulance.
There is a sign-up sheet for anyone who would like a ride to the June 20 Health Fair in John Day. We have another sign-up sheet for our monthly trip to John Day for dinner and shopping.
Everyone is reminded of the upcoming Inland Northwest Musicians orchestra concert on Saturday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Monument High School gym. Tickets at the door will be $5 for senior citizens. A reception will follow the performance.
Winners in last week’s drawings were: Ruth Peterson, free meal; Irvin Sexton, Len’s Drug; Donna Campbell, Chester’s Thriftway; and Cora Stubblefield, Touch of Country. And as always, our appreciation to everyone for the nice gifts.
