Monument Seniors: We visit Condon seniors; Condon seniors visit us

The menu on Sept. 23 was chicken enchiladas, refried beans, green salad and Jell-O. Thirty-five guests enjoyed the luncheon including Jess and Joyce Campbell from Hermiston and Bill and Donna Kennedy from Monument.
Our fearless leader, Mardy Jensen, reminded us of the bus trip to Condon on Sept. 25. Eleven people attended: Mardy and Dotty Jensen, Betty Shrofe, Ellen Kellogg, Thelma Williams, Donna Campbell, Jack Sweek, Fawn Gardner, Charlotte Howell, Jewel Cote and Carolyn Trujillo. We had a delicious ham dinner and enjoyed visiting. Before leaving town, we shopped at the neat Thrift Shop, a shop in the old Condon Hotel, the Mercantile and the grocery store. We don’t believe in any wasted effort on our trips.
Saturday night bingo was a lot of fun; we had a nice crowd and the “munchies” were really good. Grace Sweek joined in, and that made the night even better. We were very happy to see her after such a long time, even if she did win the before-dinner prize and blackout!
Condon seniors joined us for dinner on Sept. 30.
Certificate winners were Bill Kennedy, free meal; Jack Cavender, Chester’s Thriftyway; and Dotty Jensen, Touch of Country.
