Mustangs set for adoption in Burns

BURNS – The U.S. Bureau of Land Management will offer approximately 150 wild Kiger mustangs for adoption at the Harney County Fairgrounds in Burns during the 2003 Kiger Mustang-A-Fair on Oct. 23-25.
The three-day event will feature a variety of wild horse-related activities including the competitive bid adoption on Saturday, Oct. 25, wild horse training and care demonstrations, vendor booths, food concessions, viewing trained Kiger mustangs and more.
The Burns adoption will use a competitive bid procedure with a minimum bid of $125. Any unweaned foal will be offered as part of a mare/foal pair with minimum bids of $250. Viewing at the Burns wild horse corrals will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 23-24, and from 7-9 a.m. on Saturday.
