Prairie City Seniors: Driver’s classes, flu shots offered

Announcements on Oct. 8 were as follows: Flu shots will be given Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Prairie City Senior Center, and the 55 Alive driver-improvement course will be Wednesday, Oct. 21-22, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. both days at the John Day Senior Center.

Setup crew in the dining room was Amos Cardwell, Marvin Casebeer and Buzz Harris, who also delivered six home meals. Del Lake led the flag salute and Amos Cardwell gave the blessing. Amos and Helen Cardwell and Marvin Casebeer greeted 39 guests at the reception desk, filling-in for Ruth Harris.

Bonnie and Del Lake, Carolyn Bird, Helen Emmel and Marjorie Harris served orange juice, beans, cornbread, salad and pineapple upside-down cake to diners. Other workers included Hank and Naomi Goslin, Cleo Dunten and Marvin Casebeer.

So many Prairie City people are spending time in the Bend area for medical treatment. Please get well, all of you!

Gift certificate winners were Bonnie Lake, Prairie Drug and Hardware; Carolyn Bird, Lunch Box Deli; and Henry Goslin, Mort’s Barber Shop.
