JOHN DAY – Tammy Jenkins, a social services specialist in the John Day Department of Human Services Office, received a Director’s Excellence Award from Jean Thorne, who was in town recently to meet with field staff.
Jenkins was recognized “for her positive attitude and spirit of collaboration and integration she brings daily to the department and those she serves.”
According to Jenkins’ supervisor Laura Meredith, “She has always given a thousand percent toward her job and is the first to step up and help others in all areas of the office from covering reception to helping with a transport to assisting in protective services.”
The awards are given to staff who reach out effectively, engaging communities in successful collaborative efforts, or who work internally to help provide coordinated, integrated service.
