Lady Mountaineers fall to Monument/Dayville

LONG CREEK – Any team who plays the Long Creek Lady Mountaineers on their home floor knows they are in for a struggle no matter what the final score is.

Despite Monument/Dayville putting enough points on the board in the opening quarter of Friday’s matchup to win the game, the never-say-die Lady Mountaineers continued to scrap in the three remaining quarters before coming up on the short end of a 46-15 score.

The Lady Mountaineers’ defense held Monument/ Dayville to four points in the third quarter and finished the game strong despite the one-sided score.

Jennifer Lynall scored six points and Malina Reimann had four to lead Long Creek.

Monument/Dayville def. Long Creek 53-31

LONG CREEK – Carl Peterson scored 15 points and Cody Riggs added 10 as Monument/Dayville snapped a three- game losing streak with a 53-31 victory over Long Creek on Friday.

The win evened the Tigers’ TriCo League record at 4-4.

Joel Ramirez scored 10 points and James Norris hit for seven for the Mountaineers.
