The Blue Mountain Ranger District, Malheur National Forest, has completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Antelope2 Prescribed Underburn project. This EA is available for public review; copies are available upon request from the Malheur National Forest, PO Box 909, John Day OR 97845; 541-575-3000.
The project is located in Grant County, East of Seneca, Ore. The Blue Mountain Ranger District proposes underburning over several years to reduce fuels on approximately 11,000 acres. Aspen restoration and protection activities including cutting conifers less than 7 inches in diameter, piling, burning, and fencing are proposed within eleven stands.

Written comments need to be post-marked and oral comments need to be received within 30 days of this notice, as set out in the 36 CFR 215 Appeal Regulations. This public notice is appearing in the Blue Mountain Eagle, John Day, Ore., January 26, 2005. Written comments need to be post-marked and oral comments need to be received by February 26, 2005.
