Published 5:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2005
Caffeine and alcohol are both diuretics, meaning they increase the amount of urine produced by the body. This increased urination can lead to dehydration unless water, juice or other non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated drinks are consumed. Dehydration is a major factor in headaches and hangovers, and can be caused by overconsumption of energy drinks.
