Locals win at Central Point

CENTRAL POINT – With just a few rodeos left on the 2005 Columbia River Pro Rodeo Circuit, several local cowboys and cowgirls continue to rack up the earnings in preparation for the finals set for Nov. 18-20.

At the Central Point Rodeo on Oct. 22-23, Jeff Finley won second place in steer wrestling with a time of 5.8 seconds.

The run earned the Mt. Vernon cowboy a check for $957.60.

Also winning money in steer wrestling was Trevor Knowles, who finished fifth with a time of 9.2 seconds and collected $359.10.

In barrel racing, Tara Finley had a 14.30 second run good for a fourth-place finish and $575.32.
