Romance: Clark-Lofquist

Lisa Angelina Clark and Eric Taliaferro Lofquist were married on August 17, 2005 in Tuscany Italy. The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s brother, Reverend Jake Reynolds.

The bride graduated in 1992 from Burns High. She received a degree in Emergency Medical Technology from Oregon Health Sciences University and completed a B.S. in Social Science at Portland State University. She is pursuing further education as a senior nursing student at the University of Portland.

The groom graduated in 1987 from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland. He received a B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Elementary Education from Portland State University. Eric is teaching at his alma mater, Irvington Elementary in Northeast Portland.

The bride’s parents are Kathee and Touche’ Clark of the Dalles, formerly of John Day and Burns.

The groom’s parents are Sandra Lofquist of Portland; Thelma Lofquist of Portland; and Gerald Lofquist of Nancy, France.

After enjoying Germany and Italy for a couple of weeks, the bride and groom joined a few close friends and family for a week at a villa near Civitella della Chiana in Tuscany, Italy. It was here that the couple was married on August 17th in a beautiful sunset ceremony.

The bride wore a strapless, red silk gown with a chapel length train and was accompanied down the aisle by her mother, Kathee. The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s brother, Reverend Jake Reynolds. Letters from the couple’s parents and a poem

written by the bride’s brother, Heath Clark, were read during the ceremony. Music was provided by local musicians and flowers were provided by the Maglioni family. The ceremony was followed by a traditional Italian gala celebration with plenty of pasta, wild boar, wine and laughter.

The couple spent their honeymoon traveling through Italy, Switzerland and France. They returned home to celebrate with more of their friends and family at an Italian themed reception at the Overlook House. Music at the reception was provided by the groom’s brother, Gordon Reynolds, and his band, The Getaways, as well as his nephew, Seth Reynolds (a.k.a., DJ Queasy).

Eric and Lisa Lofquist currently reside at their home in North Portland.
