Victorian Christmas, food drive planned for Anthony Lakes

NORTH POWDER – Big doings are in the works at Ski Anthony Lakes throughout December.

On Dec. 3-4 and again on Dec. 10-11, a canned food drive is planned.
Anyone who brings three nonperishable food items will receive $5 discount on their lift tickets.
Also on Dec. 3, a representative of Burton will be at the resort to display the latest equipment.

Those attending the demonstration will be able to try out the latest products. The first 20 ladies to demonstrate a Burton product will receive a free charm bracelet.
People will also be eligible for discounts on Burton products at Blue Mountain Sports in La Grande.
The big event on Dec. 3 is the annual Victorian Christmas celebration and lodge decorating party. Everyone is invited to help decorate the lodge and two Christmas trees for the holiday season.
On Dec. 8, Dec. 15, Dec. 22 and again on Dec. 29, lift tickets may be purchased for half price.
Also beginning Dec. 15, Ski Anthony Lakes will be open every day through Jan. 1 except for Christmas Day.
Santa Claus will be at the lodge from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 24 with cookies being served at 1:30 p.m.
The Elkhorn Classic Nordic Race is scheduled for Dec. 31.

Skiers are reminded that their Ski Anthony Lakes season pass also acts as a membership card for the Northwest Passage Program. The program allows every pass holder to purchase a $10 lift ticket at Ski Bluewood, Willamette Pass, Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, Mt. Ashland and Mt. Shasta ski areas.
The Northwest Passage is in its third year and more ski areas are expected to sign up for the program in the near future.
