C. W. “Tiny” Jones died Sept. 7, 2006, at his home in Baker City. He was 82.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 20, 2006, at Baker Elks Lodge. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 21, 2006, at Eagle Valley Cemetery, with Pastor Gordon Bond of Richland Christian Church officiating.
Mr. Jones was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Richland to C.E. “Curly” Jones and Pearl Ritter Jones. He was raised in Richland and graduated from high school in 1942. In 1943, he joined the Army, where he flew in 27 missions as a tail gunner on a B26. He was discharged in 1945 and married Phillis Bennehoff in 1946.
He started trucking in 1947. He owned Jones Truck Line for 30 years before he sold the business.

He and his wife owned a ranch between Balier and Haines for many years. He also worked part time for Blatchford Farm and bought and sold cows for Armor & Co. He retired in 2003.
He is survived by a daughter, Kris Jones; son Everett Jones; and brother Ralph Jones of Moses Lake, Wash.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herchel and Everett.
