Jeff Robertson died Aug. 22, 2006, in Renton, Wash. He was 57.
A military funeral was held at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, Wash., with many relatives and friends attending.
Mr. Robertson was born Jan. 2, 1949, in St. Helens to Charles and Dorothy Robinson. He was raised in Downy, Calif. and returned to Oregon to graduate from Scappoose High School.
He served in the U.S. military for three years as an air traffic controller. Following the service, he worked as a machinist and mechanic in the Bend area.
He moved to John Day in 1977, where he built a house for himself on West Bench and was owner/operator of a motorcycle shop in downtown John Day.
Mr. Robertson was always optimistic, jovial and had many friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ in John Day, where he served as minister for several years.
He is survived by his best friend, Lois Haeseler, of Kent, Wash.; father Charles Robertson, of Chehalis, Wash.; brother James Robertson, of University Place, Wash.; aunt Pat Robertson; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
