JOHN DAY – The skate park furniture is scheduled to arrive Nov. 5 from Joplin, Mo. The park should be open some time after that.

Since November of 2003, $11,000 has been raised from bottle and can drives. Grants were also received from US Bank, Oregon Community Foundation, Tony Hawk Foundation, Grant Action Partners, the Kiwanis, Ford Family Foundation, Grant County transient room tax and Meyer Memorial Trust, totaling about $105,468.

Fund-raising will continue to get other items needed for the park, like garbage barrels.
