Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife investigators are asking for the public’s help in solving the unlawful killing of a Bighorn sheep in mid-January in Malheur County.

On Jan. 20, a couple of hunters found the carcass of a Bighorn sheep about 45 miles northwest of Jordan Valley in the Leslie Gulch area. The head had been removed and investigators believe the Bighorn sheep was killed within a couple days of the body’s discovery.

The Oregon Hunter’s Association and Oregon Chapter of the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep have established a reward fund for information that leads to the arrest and conviction in this case.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact OSP Trooper Bob Wilson at (541) 889-6469 ext. 771.
