Praire City competed in the Burns Lions Meet on Saturday, April 14.

Danielle Ricco placed second in the 100-meter high hurdles, second in the 300-meter low hurdles and third in the 100-yard dash.

Bradi Voigt finished second in the javelin competition with a toss of 94-feet-3-inches. And McKenzie Purnell finished seventh in discus with an 81-feet-4-inch toss.

“Danielle, Bradi and McKenzie are all really tough competitiors,” said Panthers Head Coach Joe Weymouth. “Given the weather conditions – cold, rainy – I wasn’t really too concerned about results.”

The Prairie City Panthers baseball team defeated North Lake on April 10 in non-league competition by scores of 34-2 and 35-2.

“Freshman Jay Kimball got his first two career hits for us,” said Head Coach Shannon Voigt.

Grant Union Softball

Grant Union’s softball doubleheader vs. Burns on April 14 was rained out. The game was rescheduled for Wednesday, April 18.

Grant Union Baseball

The Grant Union Prospectors were defeated by No. 1 ranked Burns on Saturday by scores of 10-5 and 17-5. Grant Union remains the No. 7 ranked team in the state in the 3A coaches poll.

On Friday, the Pros host league rival Nyssa for a doubleheader.
