Obituary: Carl Garfield Tilman

Feb. 4, 1942 – April 17, 2007

Carl Garfield Tilman died on April 17, 2007, at his residence in Prairie City. He was 65.

A memorial service was held on April 21, 2007, at the Strawberry Mountain Grange Hall in Prairie City.

Mr. Tilman was born on Feb. 4, 1942, in Caldwell, Idaho to Carl and Juanita (Owen) Tilman. He attended Borah High School in Boise, Idaho and later got his G.E.D. He served in the United States Navy. In 1965, Mr. Tilman married Sue Cherry in Carson City, Nev. They had two children.

Mr. Tilman worked in the logging industry for 42 years, first as a logger, then as a boiler tech.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, going on road trips and, most of all, spending time with his grandkids.

Mr. Tilman is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue, of Prairie City; sons, Gary Tilman of LaPine; and Greg Tilman of Payette, Idaho; mother, Juanita Tilman of Nampa, Idaho; brothers, Ray Tilman of Wise River, Mont.; Fred Tilman of Meridian, Idaho; Mike Tilman of Boise, Idaho; and Pat Tilman of Meridian, Idaho; three sisters, Mary Ritthaler of Caldwell, Idaho; Linda Tilman of Nampa, Idaho; and Tina Florence of Indian Valley, Idaho.
