Obituaries: Dean Lewis Boyer

Dean Lewis Boyer of Canby died on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at his home from renal cancer. He was 65.
A private family service will be held at a later date, arrangements by Canby Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Boyer was born on Sept. 7, 1941, in Hamilton. He was the third child of Vern and Grace Boyer. He graduated from Franklin High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962. He did a four-year apprenticeship with Sheet Metal Local 16.
In 1963, he married Diana C. Estepp. They moved to Canby in 1969 and established BBC Steel in 1970, a startup company working out of their garage. In 1974, Mr. Boyer purchased the warehouse on Township Road, where BBC still stands.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; sons, Tony L. Boyer, and his wife, Pamela; Todd W. Boyer, and his wife, Stacie, all of Canby; a sister, Nina, and brother-in-law, Ron Mark, of Washington; brother, Kent Boyer, of the Crooked River Ranch; and five grandchildren.
