Justice CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments.
? Jeri Otterstrom, Bend, was cited for driving outside restrictions. Fined $185.
? Paul Dougherty, Spokane, Wash., was cited for violation of the basic rule (75/55 zone). Fined $110.
? Tim Hueckman, John Day, was cited for driving an overweight vehicle. Fined $105.

? Devon Elliott, John Day, pleaded guilty to pessession of alcohol by a minor. He was ordered to complete an Alcohol Treatment Program and he was fined $500.

Grant County Sheriff? Benjamin Crew, 21, Phoenix, Ariz., was cited for violation of the basic rule (77/55 zone).
? John Haynes, 31, Canyon City, was cited for operating a class 1 ATV without driving privileges, and operating a class 1 ATV on the highway.
? Joseph Warren, 23, Canyon City, was cited for operating a class III ATV without driving priveleges, and unlawful operation of an ATV on the highway.
? Sammuel Marciel, 57, Great Falls, Mont., was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
? Scott Groves, 19, West Linn, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
? Sam Stinnett, 20, Canyon City, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
? Stephen Adams, Jr., 41, was cited for violation of the basic rule (86/55 zone).
DispatchJohn Day dispatch worked 211 calls during the week of July 30 through August 5. Along with various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints, and juvenile complaints, these calls included:
Law enforcement: The U.S. Forest Service responded to a report of a grass fire; John Day Police responded to a report of a suspicious subject near the U.S. Forest Service building; Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an injured deer; GCSO received a report of juveniles riding dirt bikes on Scenic Drive; Oregon State Police responded to a report of a coyote in a Canyon City resident’s backyard; JD Police responded to a report of a possible prowler; GCSO responded to a report of animal abuse; GCSO responded to an accident in Prairie City; JD Police investigated a felon in possible possession of a fire arm; GCSO received a report of missing persons; GCSO responded to a report of harassment in Mt. Vernon; JD Police responded to a report of a dog biting a person three times; JD Police responded to a report of possible child abuse.
Ambulance: John Day Ambulance was requested for a 52-year-old male with bowel problems; JD Ambulance was requested for an elderly male with severe distress; JD Ambulance was requested for an elderly man who had fallen and hit his head; JD Ambulance was requested to the Valley View Assisted Living Center for a 48-year-old female with shortness of breath, clammy skin, and a weak feeling in her legs; JD and Mt. Vernon ambulances were requested for a 55-year-old male subject who was unconscious and breathing slowly; JD Ambulance was requested for a male having severe back spasms; JD Ambulance was requested for a female with numbness in her arms and jaw; GCSO responded to a report of juveniles drinking alcoholic beverages; JD Ambulance was requested for a female with ongoing complications;
John Day Police? Melissa Marie Boyer, 20, John Day, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
? Charles Cecil Cason, Prairie City, was cited for violation of the basic speed rule.
? Garold Lee Lynall, Jr., 24, John Day, was cited for criminal trespass.
? Jimmy George Wimer, 42, John Day, was cited for failure to renew and driving uninsured.
? Kristal Karrel Holliday, 20, John Day, was cited for violation of the basic rule (87/55 zone).
? Deborah Sue Sprague, 42, Bend, was cited for violation of the basic rule (54/35 zone).
? Jeff Scott Crowder, 43, Prineville, was cited for violation of the basic rule.
? Norbert John McGee, 70, La Grande, was cited for violation of the basic speed rule (72/55 zone).
? Kris W. Nielson, 27, Rexburg, Idaho, was cited for violation of the basic rule (53/35 zone).
? Kevin J. Rapp, 22, Prairie City, was arrested for theft II.
? Celena Davis, Tohatchi, N.M., was cited for minor in possession of tobacco.
Oregon State Police? John E. Haynes, 32, Canyon City, was arrested for a violation of probation.
? Fidel Sandoval-Barajas, Kimberly, was cited for no operator’s license, driving uninsured, and failure to drive within lane.
? Oregon State Police assisted Rollie W. Shandy, Jefferson, when his 1997 Dodge Pickup caught on fire.
? Claude Resford Rider, 59, Salem, and Kris Tina Rider, Salem, were involved in a single motor vehicle crash on U.S. 395. It was reported that Claude R. Rider lost control of his motorcycle when he inadvertently drifted off the highway and drove onto a graveled shoulder, while trying to negotiate a left hand curve. He traveled for approximately 139 feet in the gravel before laying the motorcyle over on its left hand side. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported both passengers to Blue Mountain Hospital with minor injuries.
? Kevin James Guy, 33, Meridian, Idaho, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was lodged at Grant County Jail.
? Dennis H. Maron, Alberta, Canada, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was lodged at Grant County Jail.
? Triston Joseph Hicks, 22, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was lodged at Grant County Jail.
