This morning Marvin, Buzz and Ottis were up early to prepare six tables before the cooks arrived.
Later, Buzz delivered two meals, but 46 checked in with Eula to eat rolls, ham, cooked carrots, lettuce salad, mashed potatoes, gravy and yellow cake.
Before eating, the flag salute was led by Daniel Harris. Marvin introduced David Kerr, the new Prairie City school superintendent, who joined us and talked briefly. No, David Kerr is not the David who went to school here years ago. Then, Billy Drinkwater gave the blessing.

Bob McCauley was the lucky winner of Prairie Drug and Hardware certificate.
Jean Greer from Idaho joined her dad, Billy Drinkwater, today.
Our servers were Lou Thoemke, Vivian Rookstool and Pam Howard from the American Legion Auxiliary. Louise LaBaugh was helping in the kitchen.
Lorna Askew and Patty Jones brought Jim Magee, La Verne Matteson, Myn Quilling, Iris Woods and Ruth Johns from the nursing home. I’m sorry to learn Ruth had fallen and broken some bones in her hand and had her arm in a sling.
I think it was too hot to enjoy the reunion at the Bates Mill site as everyone I heard said, “Too hot!” So was SolWest fair on Saturday. How those could stand it all day is beyond me.
