MONUMENT – Okay, it’s for real this week. There were 50 people in attendance and they ate shepherd’s pie, green salad, hot rolls and peach cobbler.

On the guest list were Linda Stoltz from John Day; Marvin and Ruth Casebeer from Prairie City; Edna and Melvin Singer from Vancouver, Wash.; Donald Breeding from Gresham; Erval and Marian Sexton from Spray; Curly Bradly from Long Creek; plus, Alan Grant is home from that place over there! Welcome home, Alan!

Terry Hamilton won the free meal and Chester’s certificate was won by Linda Stolz.

The kid, Calla Walker, drover her grandma Marva to the therapist in John Day, then over here to see me and bring some things I needed from home. Sure good to see them and if my oxygen tube would have reached out to the car I would have hitch hiked home. Also saw Ray Davis and his sister, Judy, here to see their mother, Nestle Davis.

We have a new resident as of today. His name is Bob Beck and he will be 101 later this month! That’s really going to cut back on my whining. They will be using him as an example and he doesn’t complain. I’m not sure I’ll even have any “working parts” when I’m that old. Except, maybe, my mouth.
