Circuit Court
CANYON CITY – The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following fines and judgments:
? Richard L. Bettelyoun, pleaded guilty to second-degree failure to appear. He was placed on bench probation for 18 months and ordered to jail for 48 hours. He was fined $67.
In a separate incident, Bettelyoun pleaded guilty to harassment. He was placed on bench probation for 18 months and to jail for five days. He was fined $1,059.
Grant County Sheriff? Taylor Heinz, 20, Hines, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
? Ryan Sagasar, 19, Mt. Vernon, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
? Darin Kessi, 27, Prineville, was cited for violation of the basic rule and failure to renew registration.
? Jacob Green, 28, Mt. Vernon, was cited for pointing a firearm at another person.
? David Asher, 57, Milton-Freewater, was arrested for criminal trespass with a firearm.
? Monte Gibson, 47, Canyon City, was cited for probation violation.
John Day Police? Crystal Frenier, John Day, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Oregon State Police? Robert Rogers, 51, Burns, was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants and open container. He was lodged in the Grant County Jail.
DispatchJohn Day Dispatch worked 141 calls the week of Sept. 17 through Sept. 23. Along with various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints, and juvenile complaints, these calls included:
Law enforcement: John Day Police responded to a report of a drunk driver; Oregon State Police responded to a non-injury accident at Chester’s Thriftway; JD Police responded to a restraining order violation; JD Police responded to a report of a burglary; JD Police responded to a report of juveniles trying to start a fight; OSP responded to a single vehicle accident; Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a neglected horse; GCSO responded to a report of theft in Mt. Vernon; JD Police assisted OSP with an investigation of illegal hunting; GCSO responded to a report of a person having a firearm pulled on them; JD ambulance was requested for a 68-year-old female who fell and was having difficulty breathing; JD Police responded to a report of someone being threatened with a knife; JD Police responded to a report of juveniles tasing each other.
Ambulance: John Day ambulance was requested for a female who fell and hit her head; JD Ambulance was requested for a carbon monoxide detector that was going off; JD Ambulance and Oregon State Police responded to a vehicle accident at Picture Gorge; JD ambulance was sent to Valley View for an 88-year-old female with stomach symptons; JD ambulance was requested for an 84-year-old female who fell and hurt her back.
