Obituaries: Dorothy Louise Barnhardt Roske

Dorothy Louise Barnhardt Roske of Jerome, Idaho died Sept. 20, 2007, at the Twin Falls Care Center. She was 78.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 30, 2007, at White Mortuary, 136 Fourth Ave. E. in Twin Falls, Idaho. A reception will follow from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Jerome Country Club on Golf Course Road in Jerome, Idaho.

Mrs. Roske was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Helen Lindstrom and Harry Barnhardt. She grew up and went to school in Monument, Colo. She helped raise her two brothers and kept house for her father. She moved several times after her parents divorced.

She married Marlan O. Roske in 1945 and lived in Prairie City, until 1962 when they moved with their four children to Twin Falls, Idaho. They were married for 43 years.

  In 1992, Mrs. Roske moved to Jerome, Idaho to live on the Jerome Country Club golf course.

In October 2006, due to failing health, she moved to Alterra-Wynwood Assisted Living Center.

She is survived by her daughters, Mickey, and her husband, Jim Gerdon, of Jerome, Idaho; Julie and her husband, Jim D. Pappas, of Pocatello, Idaho; and, Brenda, and her husband, David Short, of Moab, Utah; son, Mark Roske, of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Ron, and his wife, Wanda Barnhart, of Yuma, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.O. Roske; her brother, Ted Barnhart; and a grandson, Mike Gerdon.
