The Grant County Chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association and one of its members were honored recently by the state organization.

The local group was named Chapter of the Year Award for its efforts in habitat improvement, reducing highway fatalities of wildlife, promoting juvenile hunting and outdoor activities, scholarship program, efforts to reduce predators, and other activities.
Jean Sagert was named the state organization’s Woman of the Year for her extensive contribution to the local chapter.
D.R. Johnson was honored as Landowner of the Year by the local chapter, recognizing his support of numerous functions to benefit Grant County programs – FFA, youth pheasant hunts, kids rodeo, and wildlife programs, among them.

He also has been a big supporter of the county chapter’s annual banquet and other efforts.
