Fern L. (Donaldson) Herburger, 97, died in December 2007 in Salem, where she had lived for over 50 years. She was a loyal employee of Meier and Frank Co. for many years.

The daughter of Ernie and Maude Donaldson, she was born in Prairie City, where she attended both grade school and high school. In 1927, she married Wilmer Herburger of Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Herburger was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, and her sister Vivian Owens. She is survived by her sons, Bill, and his wife Jean; and Fred; and daughter, Marilyn, all of Salem; foster daughter, Sandra Shoemaker, also of Salem; sister, Betty Norton of Tacoma, Wash.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem.
