The session, called “Diversifying Income Opportunities on Small Woodlands,” will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is $15 and includes lunch and refreshments.

The session is based on the premise that small woodland owners manage some of the most biologically rich forests in the Northwest. The goal is to help those owners understand the markets and tools available to them, so they can parlay that biological diversity into income opportunities.

Topics will include carbon credit markets, small-scale wood processing, conservation easements, taxation and transfer of development rights, and financial assistance programs.

To register, contact Kirk Hanson at 360-316-9317 or (kirk@nnrg.org).

The workshop is sponsored by Northwwest Certified Forestry, a non-profit program of the Northwest Natural Resource Group.
