CANYON CITY – The Southeast Regional Alliance will hold its regular board meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Guernsey Building Conference Room, 120 S. Washington St., Canyon City.
The public is invited to attend.
The SRA is a community and economic development region serving Grant, Harney, and Malheur counties. It functions as the Regional Investment Board, Regional Partnership and Southeast Area Commission on Transportation (SEACT).
At the meeting, members of the SEACT and other stakeholders will discuss the ConnectOregon II process and timelines.
Applicants from the SEACT region will give brief presentations on their projects. Con-nectOregon II will fund $100 million in marine, rail, aviation and transit projects in the form of grants and loans.
Project activities that are eligible for funding from the State Highway Trust Fund or that require or rely upon continuing subsidies from the Oregon Department of Transportation are not eligible for ConnectOregon II funding.
Other items on the agenda include an update on possible legislative action regarding the Regional Investment Program which has provided financial support for businesses throughout the three-county area over the last several years.
The 2007 Legislature eliminated project funding under this program, but is being asked to reconsider during the current special session.
All SRA meetings are open to the public and interested persons are encouraged to attend. Additional information may be obtained from the county judges or economic development coordinators in any of the three counties or by contacting Sondra Lino, Greater Eastern Oregon Development Corporation, at 541-575-2786.
