Blue Mountain Hospital provides a full service radiology department. X-Ray fluoroscopy, mammography, MRI, ultrasounds, CT scanning and bone density tests. Most procedures are performed during business hours. The radiology department has three full-time employees and 2 part-time employees. Most services are covered 24 hours a day. The radiology department boasts several new pieces of equipment. The X-Ray fluoroscopy machine was purchased last year. The MRI unit is parked at the hospital permanently. Our best acquisition is the new multi-slice light-speed CT scanner. The machine is capable of performing high-speed, fine-detail scanning. The radiology department uses PACS technology which allows the department to go film-less and also allows access to the speciality

doctors in Bend without actually having to go there. This year we are looking forward to purchasing a C-arm portable fluoroscope for intra-operative procedures.
