The respiratory therapy department has specific duties, but also is part of the health-care team. Our duties include airway management for all traumas, cardiac patients, OB and newborns and all in-patients and outpatients having any respiratory distress.

Our specific duties include:

?Ventilator management

?CPR / code blue

?Bi-PAP ventilation

?Arterial blood gas analysis

?Nebulizer treatments

?Incentive spirometry

training

?Pulmonary function testing

Due to the low volume of respiratory patients we have incorporated the cardiac diagnostic testing to our department. These tests include:

?12 lead EKG

?24 hour holter monitoring

?Cardiac stress testing

?Stress echo tests

Bend Memorial Clinic provides echo service weekly.

There are two therapists in the department. We are required to be credential and licensed by the State of Oregon and have continuing education each year.
