Meeting focuses on web safety

JOHN DAY – Bill Carroll, chief investigator for the Oregon Department of Justice, will give a free presentation about Internet safety from 6:30 to 8 p.m Wednesday, March 12, at the Grant Union High School library.
The meeting is intended as a good resource for parents and others wanting to learn more about the subject, and he asks those attending to bring questions they would like answered.
Carroll will be joined by consumer information coordinator Jan Margosiun, who will offer information and advice about consumer fraud and ID theft.
Carroll is commander of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for the State of Oregon. The event is sponsored by Grant County Safe Communities Coalition, Grant School District 3 and Oregon State Police.
