Former John Day resident Sarah Katherine Juve died Feb. 21, 2008.

She was born on Nov. 23, 1975, in Enterprise, the oldest of four children born to Mark and Jennifer (Eytchison) Juve. When she was 7, the family moved to John Day, where her parents continue to reside.

Her daughter Gilliann died Feb. 29, 2004, and Ms. Juve returned to Enterprise in the spring of 2005 to make a new home for herself and her surviving daughter, Katie.

A voracious reader, she was rarely without a book and she shared this loved of reading with her children. She also loved to swim, and was a member of the John Day swim team for much of her youth. She faced life’s most difficult challenges with a warm heart and a generous spirit.

Ms. Juve is survived by her vibrant daughter, Kaytlyn and loving partner, Brian (B.R.) Rahn. Survivors also include her parents, Mark and Jenny; brothers, Caleb (Amie), Elisha (Sarah), and Gideon Juve; grandparents, Bob and Willa Eytchison, and Dorothy Juve; aunts and uncles, Karl, Eric, Ted (Sue), Peggy (Bob Hodges) Juve, and Linda and Bob (Angie) Eytchison; cousins, Amy, Logan and Kelsey Juve, and Kate Hodges; and nephew, Noah Juve.

Her loss is also deeply mourned by her loving extended family, Mike, Mona and Shawna Rahn. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gilliann; grandfather, Arnold Juve; and aunt, Kathi Juve.

Burial was Feb. 29, 2008 in the Enterprise cemetery.
