Topic: Grazing for riparian health

SPRAY – A workshop for landowners with questions about grazing and riparian areas is set for April 2 at the Spray Grange Hall.

“Grazing for Riparian Health” is offered by OSU Extension, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service from Wheeler County, the Wheeler County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Mid-John Day and Bridge Creek Watershed Councils.

Sandy Wyman, rangeland management specialist for the National Riparian Service Team, will discuss: proper functioning condition; grazing management in riparian areas; upland grazing; and overall ranch management.

The workshop will also include a field visit to promote further discussion.

Lunch will be served at noon and the workshop will begin at 1 p.m. There workshop is free, thanks to a contribution from NRCS. To reserve a space, RSVP by March 26 to the Wheeler County Extension at 763-4115 or to the Wheeler SWCD at 468-2990.ÂÂ

REGULAR MEETINGS
