Arrests and citations the Blue Mountain Eagle reports are taken from the logs of area law-enforcement agencies. Every effort is made to report the court disposition of all arrests listed.
Justice CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Justice Court reported the following ??nes and judgments:
? Ryan Burnett, Nipomo, Calif., was cited for failing to drive on the right side of the road. He was ??ned $242, but failed to appear. His driver’s license was therefore suspended for an additional ??ne of $25.
? Gwen Haigh, Crane, was cited for violation of the basic rule (90/55 zone). Fined $427.
? Nickolus Carpenter, Prairie City, was cited for violation of the basic rule (74/55 zone). Fined $110.
? Jan Richardson, Dayville, was cited for violation of the basic rule (77/55 zone). Fined $185.
? Ryan Sagaser, John Day, was found guilty of possession of alcohol by a minor and ??ned $500 in court ??nes, costs and assessments.
Small Claims? Ray Klein Inc. v. Julie A. Murdock (aka Julie A. Miller). Money judgment awarded to Ray Klein Inc. in the amount of $1,348.43.
Circuit CourtCANYON CITY – The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following ??nes and judgments:
? Michelle Loretta Trimble, 32, was found guilty of one count of criminal trespassing in the second degree. She was placed on bench probation for a period of 12 months and ??ned $233 in court ??nes, costs and assessments. On another count of disorderly conduct in the second degree, she was placed on bench probation for 12 months and ??ned $133 in court ??nes, costs and assessments. Another count of resisting arrest was disposed with no conviction.
Oregon State Police? Shane Richard Holden, 34, Baker City, was stopped for speeding on Highway 26 east of Dayville. Mr. Holden was cited and released on three charges: a warrant out of Baker City for failure to appear on a prior charge of driving under the in??uence of intoxicant, having an open container of alcohol, and violation of the basic rule (76/55 zone).
? OSP assisted John Day Police with a reported dispute in the Hillcrest Avenue area. A 16-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody for criminal trespassing.
? Christy Kay George, 37, Canyon City, was taken into custody for an outstanding bench warrant from the Grant County Circuit Court. she was lodged in Grant County Jail with no bail.
Grant County Sheriff? Gary Sparks, 49, Nyssa, was cited for violation of the basic speed rule (78/55 zone).
DispatchJohn Day dispatch worked 130 calls during the week of March 10-16, 2008. Along with the various traf??c warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints and juvenile complaints, these calls included:
Law enforcement: Prairie City Fire Department responded to a report of a brush fire in Prairie City; John Day Police and Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of identity theft in John Day; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of logs stolen in the Prairie City area; Prairie City Fire was requested for a large equipment fire, possibly a cat/skidder; JD Police, Sheriff’s deputies and OSP responded to a dispute/assault in the Charolais Heights area; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of phone harassment in Mt. Vernon; JD Police took information on a restraining order; JD Police cited a 52-year-old man from Nampa for speeding and failing to register; Sheriff’s deputies investigated criminal mischief at Clyde Holliday Park; Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of trespassing in the Dog Creek area; OSP was advised of a livestock hazard on Highway 26 west of Dayville; Sheriff’s deputies and OSP responded to a domestic dispute in Long Creek; John Day Public Works responded to a report of communication loss at John Day Airport due to a power outage from an accident on Highway 395.
Ambulance: John Day ambulance was requested for a man who had a low heart rate, was not feeling well and passing out; JD ambulance did an Airlife transport; Seneca and JD ambulances were requested for a woman with a possible stroke; JD ambulance was requested for a woman having a diabetic reaction.
