Local art students win honors

LA GRANDE – Several Grant County art students won honors in the 2008 Eastern Oregon Regional High School Art Exhibition.
Eastern Oregon University’s Nightingale Gallery announced the awards.
The local winners included:
? Best of Show 3D – 10th grade: Karina Hoffman (Grant Union High School) for “Cherry.”
? Best of Show 2D – 9th grade: Brynn Hughes (GUHS) for “The Look.”
Honorable Mentions – Grant Union: Julio Martinez for “Pintail Duck,” Han Byul Ru for “Blue Still Life.”
The Nightingale Gallery also expressed appreciation to area teachers who worked with the contest and the young artists, including J.J. Collier, Grant Union art teacher.
