JOHN DAY – Sterling Savings Bank has purchased Monument School’s Oregon Business Energy Tax Credit in the amount of $9,512 for the school’s recent installation of new, energy-efficient lights throughout the facility.
Monument School, acting as a pass-through partner with Sterling, was able to transfer its tax credit to Sterling in return for a lump-sum cash payment. Sterling will then be able to use the tax credit toward its tax liability.
Jacob Pilling, manager of Sterling’s John Day branch, presented the check to Superintendent Mike Reule on March 5.
