Spring break fun from Parks and Recreation District

Middle schoolers can have fun at Spring Break activities planned and promoted by the John Day/Canyon City Parks and Recreation District in the coming week.
The schedule includes:
Friday, March 21
? Volleyball and Whiffle ball games, 12:30 p.m. Students meet at the Parks and Recreation office, Seventh Street Complex.
? Movie for junior high students. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., movie at 7 p.m., Grantville Theater, Canyon City.
Saturday, March 22
? Community Movie – (PG) 2 p.m., Grantville Theater, Canyon City.
? Community Movie – (PG-13), Doors open at 6:30 p.m. movie starts at 7 p.m., Grantville Theater, Canyon City.
Tuesday, March 25
? Middle School/High School Media Workshop, 8 a.m. to 3-3:30 p.m., Grantville Theater, Canyon City. Lunch provided. Learn how to get ahead in working in the media world of radio or videos.
Wednesday, March 26
? Co-ed Flag Football and Outside Dodgeball, 12:30 p.m. at the Seventh Street Complex. Meet at Parks and Rec Office.
Thursday, March 27
? Disc Golf, at 12:30 p.m., Seventh Street Complex. Meet at the Parks and Rec Office.
? Camera Shoot, at 2:30 p.m., Seventh Street Complex.
Friday, March 28
? Wizard/Human Chess ( if enough players show up), and Quickball, a new form of whiffle ball, at 12:30 p.m., Seventh Street Complex. Meet at Parks and Rec Office.
? Movie for junior high students – (PG-13) Doors open at 6:30 p.m., movie at 7 p.m., Grantville Theater, Canyon City.
In addition, Homework Club is held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. every other Thursday at the Town of Canyon City Community Hall. Up to four high school students will help the students from the middle school with their homework.
After Spring Break, Homework Club will be held on April 3, April 17, May 1, and May 15.
