JOHN DAY – John Day/Canyon City Parks and Recrection, and Pepsi are sponsoring a “Pitch, Hit and Run” competition at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Seventh Street Complex in John Day.

Age groupings are: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14, and based on the participant’s age as of July 17, 2008.

There is no fee, but a birth certificate and a parent’s signature will be required to participate. No spikes or cleats are allowed during any part of the competition.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each group at the local competition, will be awarded and advanced to the Sectional Competition at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Seventh Street Complex.
