On the uphill road there is no room for coasting!

With nearly 3 months behind me on this uphill journey…now is NOT the time to coast. It is time to kick it up a notch…and get rid of more fat! Tax time is always a struggle physically and emotionally. We work so hard and are simply exhausted at the end of every day. Exercise always takes a back burner during this time of year. However this year we were doing much better…all as a result of this Eagle Challenge. Then the viruses hit…and the wheels fell off our exercise machine.

But we are all nearly healthy again and this next week we will find that extra notch…and kick it up.

I have climbed many a steep hill on my bike…and regardless of the length of the hill…in every single situation…the same rules apply. You never get to the top by coasting…you have to keep grinding it out…one turn of the pedals after another. It never helps to look up the road too far…it can sometimes be discouraging…so you focus on the stretch of road immediately in front of you. Once you conquer that stretch you move on to the next. And eventually you arrive at the top…and what a glorious feeling that is. And oh the joy of starting down the other side. With all the hard work behind you…the wind in your face…you have a sense of accomplishment and the pain of the climb quickly fades.

This journey to being thin and healthy is like one of those steep hills. There is no coasting. You just have to keep pushing…one meal after another…day after day. And just about the time you think you can’t go on any longer…you get those pants you have not been able to wear in years on…and buttoned. And you keep at it a bit longer…focusing on the day that lies ahead of you.

I will reach the summit of this journey! There is no doubt in my mind! And when I do…Hallelujah! If you get there before me…wait for me to arrive. When you see me in the distance…encourage me to keep it up…and if I get there before you…I will do the same. We are all in this together! Go TEAM PERFORMANCE.I hear the view is fabulous once you reach the summit. See you there.
