MONUMENT – We had 48 in attendance and the menu consisted of hot beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, with chocolate cake for dessert.

We had some guests this week for a change. We had Susan Carter from Long Creek and Susan, you’re a “guest” for two visits, then you’re just homefolks! There was Jennifer Achepoke from Eugene, Joe Loneless and Elmer Gasler from Littleton, Ohio, and Niki and Kim Helms from Twickenham. Welcome to all of you and hurry back to see us real soon.

Certificate winners were Jan Ensign, Main Street Hair Company (a new one, thank you); free-meal winner was Ray Porenta; and LaVerta Cox won Chester’s Thriftway.

Well, they had their trip to Fossil and it was much like I said; the trip was good, the visiting was good and the dinner was great! The rest of the article was royally messed up. I had some notes with names on it for certificate winners and I glanced at it then turned around and wrote Frances Arneson’s name down as “bus monitor.” Sorry about that! The official “bus person” is Betty Breeding. Her phone number is 934-2519. She has agreed to take care of the bus and phone calls and picking out places to go, etc. The aim being, it’s a case of use it or lose it; they’re trying to keep the prices down, give people a chance to enjoy short trips and visit with old and new friends. So come on guys, let’s saddle up and go somewhere.
