Obituaries: Ginger Kay Flippence

Ginger Kay Flippence, 56, of John Day, died May 7, 2008 at her residence. A funeral service was held Monday, May 12, at Driskill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Daniel Wiese of the John Day Church of the Nazarene officiated. Vault interment took place at Prairie City Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 25, 1952 in Baker City to Gene L. and Betty J. (Zemmer) Saul. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1970. On Aug. 9, 1969, she married Dennis J. Flippence in Bates. She worked in back office operations at Old West Federal Credit Union, retiring in June 2007.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, fishing, boating and camping. She also enjoyed attending sporting events and bowling. She was a member of the John Day Elks Lodge and the John Day Church of the Nazarene. One of her greatest accomplishments was raising her family.

Mrs. Flippence is survived by her husband, Dennis Flippence of John Day; two daughters, Kendra (Buell) Gonzales of Mill City and Robyn (Cris) Curry of Riddle; mother, Betty Saul of Seneca; two brothers, Randy Saul of Prairie City and Rick Saul of Seneca; two sisters, Cindy Combs of John Day and Jody Harig of Seneca; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Saul.
