JOHN DAY – Monday, May 19, Bible Way Church members served pizza, tossed salad, cake and ice cream. Rev. Retherford asked the blessing and Vera Hensley led the flag salute. Helen Bogart received the certificate from Len’s.

Thursday, Clear Choice of Bend bought everyone’s dinner. Ed Griffin, in memory of Dena, furnished the entree.

Served was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, bean salad, bran muffins and pie. Members of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church served the meal. Walt Hall led the flag salute and Jim Maple asked the blessing.

John Day city police chief Rich Tirico presented a letter from Canyon City fire department thanking the Senior Center for the dinner served in their honor.

Friend, Betty June (Jenkins) spent a few days visiting friends and family locally. She decorated family plots at Canyon City Cemetery. While there, she visited with Charlie Lewis. He placed roses on his wife, Cecille’s grave, who would have been 100 years old. Charlie will be 100 in July.

Volunteers are needed to help with clean up; please ask Carryl.

June 2nd, macaroni and cheese will be served; June 5th, chicken; June 9th, sandwiches and salad; and June 12th, ham.

Flexible people never get bent out of shape.
