PRAIRIE CITY – May 21, 2008. Back to cool weather. Heard you had a dandy rainstorm Tuesday afternoon while we were gone to Idaho. That was probably cleaner than what we were in between Caldwell and Parma. Have you been in a rainstorm and a dust storm at the same time? Cars were covered with mud streaks. It rained on and off most of today.

The three prepared five tables for the 40 who came to eat spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and cake. Edna Jennings prepared the meal all by herself.

Flag salute was led by Buzz. Ben Luethe gave the blessing. Has been awhile since he came – busy at home, I bet.

Chuck’s Little Diner certificate was won by Helen Bogart. Prairie Drug and Hardware certificate was won by Leone Wenzel.

Our servers were Beverly Curtis, Sharon Kimberling and Barbara Bass.

Lorna Askew and Patty Jones brought Daphne Andrews, Margaret Sagert, Ruth Johns and Ethel McFadden from the nursing home.

Ron and Wanda Barnhart have visited many friends and relatives before moving on to another grandchild’s graduation. Ron had some lake fishing with Dennis Lynch and whoever else, and a good sunburn.

Steve and Doreen Deardorff also were here and visiting their friends and relatives when could catch them home.
