Health Fair is coming

JOHN DAY – Mark your calendar for the annual Grant County Health Fair, 6 a.m.-12 p.m. Friday, June 20.

Preregistrations will take place for a limited time, at the Grant County Health Department or the John Day Senior Center, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. daily. Payment is required when you preregister. There will be no refunds.

Some of the booths and services available will be: dental information; acupuncture; dermatology; domestic violence and victim services; checks for hearing, height and weight, blood pressure and HGB (blood iron level); mammogram information; a registered dietician; massage therapy; and podiatry.

Some of the participating businesses and programs include: AARP; Air Life of Oregon; Blue Mountain Eagle Challenge; Blue Mountain Hospital Ambulance; the Center for Human Development; Curves for Women; Juice Plus; Mountain Valley Eye Care; Oregon State Police drug board; Take Off Pounds Sensibly; and Valley View Assisted Living. A concession stand will be provided by Uptown Girls.

Also available again this year, will be the blood draw and prostate specific antigen tests, costing $30 and $15 respectively.

The Grant County Health Fair is co-sponsored by Grant County Health Department, Malheur National Forest, Blue Mountain Hospital and Blue Mountain Womens Auxiliary.
