Lenny and Sherri Dowdy of John Day celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a private party for family and friends on Saturday, June 14, at the John Day Senior Center.

The couple were married on June 18, 1983, in Creswell. Relatives from as far away as Oklahoma came for the anniversary celebration, as well as some of the original bridal party from Creswell.

The Dowdys have lived in John Day for 23 years and have enjoyed involvement in many school and community activities over the years. They have three children, Stephanie (husband Tye); Sylvia; and Randy; and two grandchildren, Halle and Taylor, with one more on the way.
